Do You Remember When 2016 Happened?

This year had flown by and I’m completely aware it’s not quite Christmas yet but it’s about this time of year our TV screens start to flood in with reviews of the year.  As I’m about to have a blog shut down for Christmas I thought I’d get this in now and share some of the things that have happened in my world this year.

It’s been jam-packed and I’ve taken thousands of photos, I’ll share some of my favourites along the way…

The Robot eating his first meals…

Let’s start off with a bit of a silly moment…  Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a re-hashed Christmas Carol:

On the 1st Day of Christmas The Robot Sent to me:
A Bauble for my Christmas Tree
On the 2nd Day:
A Whole lot of Love...
Wait…  Where is the rest of it?   You have to sign up to my newsletter mailing list before the 16th of December, and you’ll receive a Christmas activity pack with the rest of my lyrics..

My Top 5 Blogs

It’s always interesting looking at the stats on the blog, but without getting bogged down with numbers I’d thought I’d share with you my top 5 highest viewed posts. These are not including the competitions and reviews…

In 5th place is my recent post on SAD…  I was surprised by all the warm response I received on this, to get into the highest rank within a couple of weeks makes me the happiest of all!

Sometimes I’m Not OK, but that’s ok

In 4th place is our first cycle camping trip and a run down of the final few days of the #5×50 Challenge.   A challenge to do 5K of something for 50 days.  This was a beautiful camping trip and the Robots first on the back of a bike!

5×50 The Final Weekend!

In 3rd place is our Guide to Camping with a Baby – real basic camping.   We loved all our camping trips from last year and think that we learnt a few things along the way.   Hopefully helpful to anyone else wanting to go away for a camp with little ones.

In 2nd place because I shared it EVERYWHERE is That Annoying Things Bloggers do – show us your Twitter handle!  A simple reminder to make sure your sharing buttons work on your blog!

That Annoying Thing That Bloggers Do… What’s Your Handle?

In 1st place is the start of the #30DaysWild Challenge.  Doing something outdoors for 30 Days over the month of June.  I kicked us off with my guide to going on a countryside walk with a small person.

Linky Love

Throughout the last year I’ve definitely fallen in love with blogging and one thing that I’ve enjoyed are all the linky parties. There are so many but I’ve whittled it down to a few favourites.  I wish I could join in every week but I really can’t give the time.  I tried to schedule them in but it’s impossible!    #FamilyFun takes up a lot of my time and I want to thank Sarah from TammyMum for being my co-host, she keeps me going!

Here are my 4 favourite linkys to join in with:

There are a few more but these are the ones that I hate to miss for too many weeks in a row!

My Bestie Blogger Friends

There are tonnes of bloggers out there that I follow and talk to on a daily basis some really inspirational people who have made me stick at this.  However there are a few that I started my blogging journey with that I thought I’d give a shout out to because at 2am in the morning it’s always nice to know someone else is there for me!  If you’ve not read their blogs before I suggest you do:

  • Mummy in a Tutu – The powerhouse behind #TribalChat – So loving and giving – nothing is too much trouble.
  • Tammy Mum – My linky bestie but also straight talking and completely gets how I feel!
  • An Imperfect Mum – Total love for this lady – hardworking and so loving – wish you were nearer!
  • Squirmy Popple – Always 2 months behind the Robot is following in the Popples footsteps! Never fails to make me smile.
  • Babies Biscuits and Booze – So loving and keeping it real, so much talent.
  • The Parenting Jungle – A big bubble of love.  Cut to the chase funny.  LMAO.
  • Adventures with J – So much love and inspiration – keep it coming.
  • Occupation(M)other – Never short of an essay or two or three and loves an emoji or more – bring back the aubergine.

Tie it all up in a knot

Well I didn’t expect that to turn into a bloggy love fest just then.  A big part of the last year has revolved around my blog though so it’s hardly surprising.   2016 has been a brilliant year completely adjusting to life as a Mother.  We’ve had plenty ups and downs and everyday is a new learning opportunity.

My little man has blossomed into a toddler this year and it is pretty incredible watching a little person grow like this.  Dave and I are truly grateful that he is in our lives.  I’m so glad I can share it with you.

What to look forward to in 2017

I’ve got a couple of projects planned for the New Year.  I’ll leave you in suspense but lets just say it’s definitely going to be good! Apart from one last #FamilyFun post this is me signing off for 2016 to go and eat my weight in mince pies.  Have a good Christmas and see you in the New Year…

  8. Sorry it’s taken me so long to comment, i read this and enjoyed it immensely when you posted it. I’m just sad that aubergine emojis are rude, I genuinely just like aubergines. Im pleased to have found some time this evening to remind myself of some of your posts and also read some new ones that I missed along the way because you know life and shizzle (the Dave one is lovely!). I have so enjoyed reading your blog this year, your adventures are always entertaining and inspiring. More than that though I’m so pleased to have virtually ‘met’ you. You’re kind and lovely.
Thank you for hosting #familyfun, it’s my first time joining with you and sarah and it has indeed been a lot of fun!
