Good Bye #ABrandNewDay

Good Bye #ABrandNewDay I Thank You

I’m going to be saying good-bye today.   I’ve run #ABrandNewDay for 18 weeks and a full month.  My lovely little community of 20ish bloggers have been with me, some, from the start.    I really appreciate you coming back each week, filling my screens with your words.  It was always been a pleasure to have you.

The time behind organising a link up is something I enjoy, I’m über organised and love to read people’s blogs.  It does however get lonely at the top.  I really admire those bloggers that manage and run big successful linkys all by themselves.  Fiona at Coombe Mill #CountryKids rocks!

Two weeks ago a solution crossed my path.

Having a supportive blogging tribe is one of the biggest reasons I am still blogging today.  If you’ve not come across #TribalChat then please come and investigate, start with our Twitter hour on a Tuesday at 8pm till 9pm, or request to join our Facebook group.  I may be biased but we’re friendly!

One of my favourite bloggers, Catie from An Imperfect Mum, listened to me and my worries over #ABrandNewDay.  She could tell I wasn’t happy and offered up her old linky #FamilyFun as a solution.  I don’t know if any of you remember #FamilyFun?   Again a lovely supportive community, one that I cherished and joined in on each week.  I was sad to see it go and am now jumping at the chance to re-kindle this link up.

I’m not flying solo anymore!

One of my good blogger friends Sarah from is joining forces with me to bring you a new and re-loved #FamilyFun.  We hope to take what Catie achieved and turn #FamilyFun into an even more supportive and fun linky to be around.  I hope that you’ll come with me from #ABrandNewDay and support my new adventure.   I am beyond excited and so happy to be working with someone I love and admire!

So what is #FamilyFun?

Bloggers really are a supportive bunch. If you spend the time to get to know them they really do feel as close as family.  A little on-line family.  Bloggers, we invite you to come and link up any blog posts you wish to #FamilyFun.   We’re going to run from Wednesday through to Friday.   Sarah and I are going to read and comment and tweet all of your posts.  There is also going to be another exciting little secret that we’ll reveal when we launch next week…

One last farewell

Goodbye #ABrandNewDay, you will remain on my blog, I have enjoyed your company but you will live on in #FamilyFun!

Are you going to join us next week?  I’d love to see you and I’ll give you an extra special #virtualhug for coming!  Now what more could one ask for!?

Karen x

Keep Calm and Carry On Linking Sunday

  1. I’ll certainly drop by #familyfun. I imagine running a linky requires a tremendous amount of effort and time. Especially if you’re attempting it on your own! I work full time as a teacher (plus the stuff I end up bringing home every evening) so, with two kids under 3, I don’t think I’d ever manage it. Hats off to those that do.

I know I’m in awe of those that have been on their own for years. Definitely adding a blogging buddy to it makes it a little easier and more motivating! I’ve only one little at the moment but imagine another 2 would zap even more time! Thanks for your comment and I’ll hopefully see you at #familyfun

Thanks Louise! I’m looking forward for my little one to speak so I can join in on yours! Although technically shouldn’t be wishing him to speak as I think he won’t shut up when he starts!

  2. Hi Karen,
I haven’t been joining any linkies (or doing any real blogging) over the school holidays but saw this in my inbox this morning and just wanted to pop over to say goodbye to #abrandnewday (I’m totally keeping the featued badge fyi) 🙂
Great work hosting it, thank you and good luck with #familyfun – I’m sure you’ll see me over there soon! X

  3. Whoop wishing you loads of success with this lovely. When I read your email I was a little sad as we started our linky’s at just the same time. But I am so pleased that you are teaming up with Sarah from TammyMum, she is the best and co-hosted #fortheloveofBLOG last week – she’s a trooper. I wish you all the best with it and I’ll try really hard to link up. Claire x #triballove

  4. I fully understand the time commitment that goes into running a linky – I’m in awe of anyone who runs one on their own! It’s lovely to have a co-host to chat things through with and feel like you’re not on your own – you and TammyMum will make a great team! Looking forward to #FamilyFun – I’ll do my best to join in, I need to get my linky joining act together again! Thanks so much for joining us again at #SharingtheBlogLove

  6. That sounds like a great idea! I remember Catie’s old linky! If I wasn’t already so busy with all of the other linkies I have on my list, I would totally come by for a link up. I wish you the best of luck with it though:) #mg

  7. I’m a complete newbie and have been in awe of peeps that run linkies. It’s all I can do to find the time to join some, let alone run one. It’s great that you’ve found a way to keep the linky love, just under a different name! Thanks for the rec for the #TribalChat. I’ll def check it out. Are there any requirements to joining the FB group? x #fortheloveofBLOG

  9. Oh hun I know how much time running a linky takes up, and I have a co-host. I cannot imagine the time it would take to run it all by myself. I’m so pleased you took on Catie’s #FamilyFun and I hope to join in whenever I can. 🙂
    Thanks for linking to #pocolo
