5×50 is a challenge where you have to walk, run or cycle 5k a day for 50 days. It started on Sunday 27th April. The philosophy behind 5×50 is that exercise should become a habit not a chore. Here is my weekly update.
Day 15
We went on a 14 mile bike ride as a family. You can go and read Day Out Cycling to Glasson Dock. It really has spurred on some other biking ideas!!
Day 16
Monday morning is normally FitMums. Today I decided not to go, the Robot kept me up with teeth issues and I was tired. My Mum came to visit though and we went for a walk along the coast and back! 5k done!
Day 17
Walked 2k in the morning then walked 3k with the buggy and the rain in the afternoon. Always a struggle when it’s raining! I’m thankful for a buggy rain cover for the little one!
Day 18
Wednesday is a group day. Not a lot of time for walking but I did a massive loop around the canal to get to the children’s centre in the morning which upped my k’s for the day. 5k achieved from walking venue to venue!!
Day 19
We went to Happy Mount Park, indeed it was happy and we got in our 5k walk followed by a play on the baby park!

Day 20
Dave keeps having Friday’s off. We caught the train with our bikes again and cycled back home. Another 8 miles under our belts, aka 12.5k.
Day 21
Dave’s parents came to visit today. We went for a walk around the local area, down some paths I’ve not been on before. 9k later we are all pretty tired and enjoy a biscuit and cup of tea!!

Thank you! I’m relaxing with chocolate now! Always a good bonus!
I need to get out and walk more than I do. It’s always a lovely day out with the boys 🙂 I’ll tweet this post out xx #bloggerclubuk http://www.swanny.me
I’m enjoying the challenge of making myself do it every day! It’s tough some days though! R always enjoys it too!
You make 5k sound really achievable. I’d not heard of this before but I want to definitely make exercise a habit so I’ll take a look at their site and get on board. You’re definitely smashing 5k a day we’ll done! And thanks for hosting x
Thanks Hun, it’s 3 miles, still tough with a baby in tow! Time is ye biggest factor. If I walk it in one go it’s an hour and a half! You can get a lot done in an hour and a half!!
wow you are doing really well – what a great challenge. Are you feeling like you are full of energy? #bloggerclubUK
Thanks lovely. I suppose I am feeling a bit more energised. Hadn’t really thought about it. I get more done in the day, does that count!?
wow your commitment is to be commended – I thunk starting a challenge really helps you stick to it as opposed to “oh i’m going to get fitter this week” kind of ethos. Really well done you – and so good for Robot too! How do you feel? Have you noticed the benefits yet? I bet it’s changed your whole focus on life – stop and smell the flowers a little more instead of rushing around in a car! Lovely read #BloggerClubUK

Thank you! Your totally right, put the word challenge against it and I’m there with bells on!! I definitely feel fitter, actually doing it isn’t a problem! It’s finding the time! I weighed myself out of interest this morning and I’ve put a couple of pounds on since I last weighed in! So I consider that a stay the same! I eat a tremendous amount of cake and chocolate though!
Karen, I am super impressed! You’ve done so well. I feel even lazier than normal when I read your posts!! I do normally go for at least a short walk each day but pretty sure it wouldn’t be anywhere near 5k haha. #BloggerClubUK
It’s not too bad, I split into a few walks on my lazier days! Lol! So I’m only out 20-30 minutes at a time and normally include a walk to the shops! At least you’re going out that’s not lazy!
I am always so impressed with you hun. Where you get the energy from I dont know but if you have any spare send it my way xx

I’m running on low today. I need an early night. I do think that exercise breeds energy though. The more you do the easier it gets.
This is such a good idea! I would so be up for this when it includes walking – I’m not good with running but do enjoy Walking! Thank you for the inspiration and for joining us at #BloggerClubUk hope to see you again next week X
Thank you. For walking the 5k is doable but does take an hour and a half out your day! They have 5 different tiers to work with so you can do less or tag team with someone and do 25 days. Or a group of 5 people and each do 1k a day. It’s just good to get used to doing something every day to get you in the habit.
