We’re getting ever closer to the start of the #ABC123Challenge on the 5th of February. We have had a bit of interest on Instagram from people going to take part which is awesome! I figured I’d do a bit of an ideas post to get your brains ticking on themes you could join in with.
But first, if your new to the challenge, I’ll fill you in…
Write 3 posts each week be it on a blog, on Instagram or a bit of both. If you choose blog do come share it via the #ABC123Challenge hashtag on Instagram. This is an alphabet challenge. Each week is a new letter, your posts should be themed on that letter.
The challenge is to choose 3 subjects and keep to them throughout the alphabet each week. I’ll be sharing some examples in a moment.
If you want a bit of history on the challenge go back and read this blog post. It explains why 3! If you actually read it then you will understand why I’m not going to force you into sticking to 3 a week or even joining in each week. Although joining in each week is preferable, we do all have lives and holidays, I understand! Skip weeks, catch ups, this is your challenge and your consistency in the making.
If you want to keep up to date each week sign up to the mailing list for reminders:

I’ve kinda got a head start on you. I have done this challenge before and know what I like and what I’m capable of. If you are a blogger taking part then sticking to your usual blogging style is a good idea. If you’re joining us on Instagram then make your photos and text work for you, the challenge is up to you!
I’ll be writing a blog based round play activities with my kids, a second as a gratitude weekly update and then over on Instagram a sewing/craft related post. I’ll be tagging them all with #ABC123Challenge on Instagram.
For you though how about –
- Photos of objects
- Train spotting
- Parenting woes
- Parenting highs
- Extreme sports
- Stupid things your kids say
- Science fiction
- Things you love
The list could go on and on and on. It’s entirely up to you!
Plan plan plan. Yes do plan, get those ideas going, maybe take pictures in advance, write lists, ponder over that letter X, it’ll make things easier if you have a head start. I’m writing my weekly update weekly as but I’ve already started thinking about and doing some of my play activities with my kids. Got to be on top of your game. There is still time to plan ahead!
Thankfully X is near the end so we can panic over that at a later stage. Start dreaming up your letter A’s ready for the 5th of Feb!
Do let me know if you have any other questions I’ll do my best to answer them for you as quickly as possible?
