Robots Reading Round Up #3
It feels like ages since I last did our library book round up, I think I’ve been sat on them longer this time. This selection of books has been selected by the Robot himself. Previous to this I selected some “Wild Books” and Round Up #1 was more of an experiment. I love our librarian, she is pretty crazy with her red hair and super enthusiasm, rhyme time with Sarah is the best! On to the books:
That’s not my penguin… by Usborne Publishing
I’ve said before, I am a big fan of Usborne Publishing, their books are always so vibrant and colourful. On this occasion though it’s not captivated the Robot at all. Not for want of trying, he pushes this book away whenever I’ve tried to read it to him. The little mouse heads through the book trying to find his penguin. It’s cute but not for the Robot!
Baby Look and Feel Animals by Bloomsbury Publishing
This is a lovely colourful book. It’s easy for the Robot to read himself too as the pages are staggered. Each page has a new animal on with the text of the animal making a sound. The elephant says splash splash, and a few other suspect noises from animals. It’s a thumbs up from us.
To Baby With Love: Peekaboo Baby! by Little Tigger Press
I’ve put these in favourites order for this round up. This is a lift the flaps book and as you go through the book you have to find out who is hiding under the cake, under the balloons. We picked this up at the right time because it’s birthday themed and we had it over the Robots birthday. I don’t like to give spoilers away but the last page has a mirror when you open the flap. The Robot was obsessed with this and alway had a good look in… Who’s hiding under… It’s You! Definite thumbs up here. So cute.
Baby Boo! by Make Believe Ideas Ltd
I thought this was going to be a flop but it turned out I was wrong. Each page you have to search for a baby which can be pulled out of the book with a “Boo”. A combination of real baby pictures and the Robots favourite game of Peek-a-boo meant this was a big thumbs up. By the end of the 3 week hire the Robot could pull the inserts out on his own. He just loved this one!
Thats all for this month… I love to hear about what books your little ones read, please do share this with me?
