The Letter K #FamilyFunLinky #ABC123Challenge

#FamilyFunLinky Week 75

Family Fun is for all bloggers of all shapes and sizes. A supportive little community to share anything you want.  Link up any 2 blog posts and we look forward to having a read!

Welcome to Family Fun.  The observant amongst you will have noticed this is the post that I have linked up to our linky this week.  This is the 75th Family Fun link up under the umbrella of Sarah and I (and Alana), that’s a lot.  Running and hosting a linky is a lot of hard work and we do really appreciate that you come back and link up each week.  I’ve noticed something recently though and I feel I have to mention it because it feels like I’m putting in the work and people are missing out.

Link droppers and fake comments. Between us hosts we take the time to read and comment on all the posts that get linked up.  If for any reason we don’t please do let us know, we’re busy parents and wouldn’t miss you on purpose.   I like to think we actually give reasonable comments too, ones that show we read the post and make a proper judgement and or opinion on your work.  Sometimes that is hard, but we do.  Fake comments though are the ones that flow like this; “great post”, “you’ve had a busy week”, “this is a really clever idea”…  you get the idea.   You’re a blogger and a writer, string a couple of sentences together, it makes the blogger feel worthwhile!

Sometimes you get given a blog that just doesn’t interest you, a review for hair removal (that’s all I could think up!), I get this, it’s the last thing I want to go “yay” about… With this in mind, today I figured I’d try something different.  I linked up this blog today but I want you to do something for me:

Have a quick scroll through my recent blogs and choose a blog that you would like to have a read of and count this as your #FamilyFun read from Two Tiny Hands.   If you prefer it this way let me know in the comments and I will start to do this every week.  It’s worth a try.

My featured post this week goes to Sarah at Tammy Mum for The magical age of four.  I found myself nodding along and pondering my impending launch into having a three-year old. The Robot is getting a little bit testing and a few more months of two before three I really hope it goes easy on me!

  1. Thanks for hosting Karen – I know how busy you are and understand your frustration. I do join very few linkies these days but try and drop by at #familyfunlinky from time to time as you, Alana and Sarah always leave thoughtful comments and I love reading your posts too. I’ll go and visit your home page now – really good idea. XX

  2. I know linkys are a TON of work. I do join up with a fun linky that runs exactly as you suggested above – we link up our blog home page and everyone scrolls around and reads something that piques their interest. It’s a great idea, but I also don’t think it’s that hard to leave a meaningful comment even if we don’t especially love the post we’re reading. I appreciate all the work you and the other ladies put into hosting this great linky!

  3. Well said Karen. It can be hard sometimes to leave comments on posts that don’t particularly interest you, especially when you’re pushed for time, but I see this as a community and we should treat each other the way we wish to be treated. Taking an extra few moments to write something meaningful can really help lift each other up x

  4. I can only imagine how hard it is to run a linky. Add to that writing posts and looking after small children and it’s safe to say life is pretty hectic. I love this linky, and very much appreciate all the effort you, Sarah and Alana put in. And I also very much appreciate your thoughtful comments. I’m off to your homepage to find a post I like the sound of. X #FamilyFunLinky
