Kitchen Play

Kitchen Play

The Robot just loves to bang and make noise.  He is also at an age where sitting in the high chair and dutifully watching me cook isn’t working.  So to counteract this we have decided to try play in the kitchen.  I’ve pulled out all the pots and pans out of the cupboard, handed him all the utensils and just let him go crazy!

It took him a few minutes to wonder what he should do, giving me a look of are you sure these are mine to play with!?  A little bit of banging from me and he was off…

This is a great activity for co-ordination, he passes items between his hands and brings them to each other to make the noise.   It kept him busy for a good 15 minutes.

Next phase of kitchen play is the drawers!  Thankfully he only goes in the bottom draw at the moment.  It contains our carrier bags.  He loves to get in and pull them all out.

The best thing about the kitchen though is the washing machine on a wash cycle!  If he hears it is on and we’re in the living room he’ll crawl through to watch it.  It must be fascinating!

Robot is stood with his face watching the washing going around in the machine.

I am sure that there is loads more fun to be had in the kitchen.  What else do you get up to?  Please share with me.

  1. Can’t beat sitting on the kitchen floor and banging pots and pans – my two loved to do that too (now they either want to help or are engrossed in playing with the fridge magnets!) Funny how fascinating the washing machine always is for little ones too. Looks like Robot was having a fabulous time playing in the kitchen. Thanks for linking up to #FamilyFun 🙂

I think we’re about a week away from installing locks on our cupboards too! I love that he wants to play but just not in the cuboards! Poor little fingers keep getting caught!
