I Can’t Sleep With Cold Feet

There you go, I can’t sleep with cold feet.  I wish that was enough said, but I’m awake, it’s gone 11, a shocker I know, and I can’t sleep!!

My mind is whirring away, my cold feet are fidgeting trying to keep warm, I’m trying to sleep! It is a rare occurrence to be awake this late. I’m usually lights out at 22.22.  But after an hour of feet rubbing and mind wandering I’ve given up.

What I should have done half an hour ago was to put some socks on. I knew this but thought I could cheat and rub my feet together. What a fool I am (insert rolling eye emoji).

Having just done that now, the walk to the sock drawer waking me up, I’m awake thinking about this blog post.  Let’s do it, a random, probably thoughtless blog post. Whoop go me.

I’m awake listening to the soft snoring of Dave while said cold feet warm up. Thinking, thinking about what I’m thinking about.

The election is a pretty big one right now.  Today I took the Robot with me to vote for the second time.  I should be sleeping so I can wake to hear the results in the morning. Instead my feet are cold and I’m awake!

I’m not going to go down a particularly political route here, I’m not that person. I’ve always voted, even if I don’t quite get it.  This time though I’ve made a point of understanding and made my own informed decision.  I’m quite proud of that as I’ve often been led by others in the past.

Today I even had a conversation about who I voted for and why with someone other than my family.  They understood.  It made me glow.

Not glow enough to stop my feet being cold!!  Yes I’m still awake.

There are other things on my mind too.  These are not for now.  It’s exciting and I couldn’t resist sharing this with some chat friends earlier. As ever they were supportive and my enthusiasm grows.  I’m not sure cold feet have a play here either.

My bladder calls, I’ve been to the loo, it’s getting closer to midnight. I know my body has to give in, my eyes are getting weary. It’s time to switch off and click save or post… it’s missing a picture, a header, a feature.  Do I dare click post with no SEO, only a blogger will know.

So here is my Robot & I all ready to vote, I hope it loads so I can click post:

It’s just turned 00:02 and I’m gonna hit post.

I hope I can sleep now my feet have warmed up, so hopefully yes because I can’t sleep with cold feet!!

  1. “What I should have done half an hour ago was to put some socks on. I knew this but thought I could cheat and rub my feet together. What a fool I am (insert rolling eye emoji).” – this was me almost every night this Winter… a few nights ago, I decided to save myself the hassle, and have now started hopping into bed with socks already on… I feel so clever. #FamilyFun

  2. I can’t sleep with cold feet either! I often have to get up in the night to put on socks – even in the summertime. I think women are more likely to have cold feet and hands then men – something about biology. I hate it when you’re just lying in bed and can’t fall asleep, knowing that your child is going to wake you up at the crack of dawn! #FamilyFun

  3. I can’t sleep with cold feet…but I can’t sleep with hot feet either. And, while most of my awake time is spent with freezing cold hands and feet, as soon as I get into bed they are often on fire! It’s very annoying!

I can’t believe you even contemplating sleeping on Thursday. I stayed up until I couldn’t cope any longer (4:30). The excitement was too much. I do this every election night. I never win!! #familyfunlinky

  4. I am completely the same. My husband always has cold feet and hands in they day but at night it never bothers him. I, on the other hand, always wear socks in winter and even at times in the spring and autumn. I kick them off in my sleep whereas if I don’t have them on, I’m like you and just lay there. You’ll usually find at least one pair of abandoned bed socks next to my side of the bed throughout the year! Glad you finally got some sleep, albeit not as much as you’d have liked. Great ‘in the moment’ post – love these! #FamilyFunLinky

  5. I do love a random post! Although my feet are literally never cold, it’s usually the hubbys ice feet that touch mine in the night and wake me! I think with this latest election so many people are fed up of just believing what they’ve been told to believe so have done some research which is fab! #familyfunlinky

  6. Mine has developed some sort of rash on her feet, cheap plastics watershoes to blame I think, and decided the best way to itch them was to jump into bed with me last night and use my leg as a scratching post. I think I would have preferred the usual wife cold feet up against me all night #familyfun
