Happy Days – Going Slow

Happy Days is a process for finding the happiness in every day and is something that I enjoy doing with Katy and Sian each week, I really feel it adds value to my life.  It allows me to make the most of each day and leave it on a positive note.

I didn’t quite mean to take such a big break since my last Happy Days post.  It was the 1st of April the last time I wrote one and I for sure haven’t been keeping track of all my happy moments.  You could say that I have been on a bit of a go slow with the blog.  Choosing life over everything else.  Not to worry though because as I love to say from time to time it’s my blog so my rules!

As I’ve not kept every little happy moment this will be a general round-up of what has happened in the last 5-6 weeks with a little bit more for good measure…

– We went on our first camping trip of the year.   It was a tad cold at night but so so sunny in the daytime.  Just beautiful.

– The Robot and I have been trying to do more and varied play, we’ve been making play doh, cakes and getting creative with paint and stickers.  It’s so much more fun now he’s a bit older.

– We are really enjoying play groups and meeting up with friends recently.  The Easter break was hard when they stopped but made it worth the wait when they all started again.

– Brilliant day trips out and about.  Two of which explores the Robots love of all things tunnels.

– The Robot amazes us everyday, his speech is coming thick and fast, he’s walking, playing, dancing and much more.  He loves to be outside and that makes me really happy!  He’s a pleasure to hang around with everyday.

– Even though I really love blogging I’ve sort of decided that I don’t like to share as much about our lives as I’d like too.  This wobble has been an interesting one that probably has aided the go slow of happy days.  That being said though I’ve decided to persist and carry on with a few small changes!

– The Robot is going to be a big brother.  I don’t really want to blog about it but happy to mention it here…  We’re over the moon but I think that this is our experience and to blog openly about it feels a bit weird.  So I’m not!

– We just got back from a week away on the Small Isles Island hopping in Scotland.  We’ve been truly blessed with the weather and can’t wait to share a few more of our adventures with you over the coming weeks.   It feels like we have been away for weeks and we are really rested.  Here are a few of my favourite snaps from our trip:

Thanks for taking the time to read.  Here is hoping you have a brilliant weekend and although I will try to give you a happy days next week I can’t promise it!!    I’m going to BlogOn next week and I know a few of you who read these will probably be going so I hope to see you there…

  1. Blogging can be weird can’t it? Sometimes I overshare and sometimes I step back and keep things to myself. Its all about whatever works for you. Congratulations on your pregnancy though! Small isles hopping in Scotland sounds amazing, look forward to seeing more of that #countrykids

  2. It looks like you’ve had plenty of happy moments over the last few weeks, I think it’s good to keep some of them to yourself. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I get not wanting to share too much of your personal life. Your holiday looks like a lovely way to relax and spend time as just the three of you.

Thanks for sharing with me on #CountryKids

  3. Great picture of the boots on the beach, and looks like you had some great weather, but must be the longest dry spell I remember here for many a year, it is saving the rain till we go on holiday!!
Congrats on No2 being on the way, hope all goes smoothly. #countrykids

  4. Scottish Island hopping is one of my happy things that I’ve not done for ages. Took the family to Arran last year and it reminded me. Congrats on your good news. I’m sure Robot will be thrilled to have a younger sibling. Totally get the not wishing to over share. I don’t share everything. There is a fine line when others are concerned. #CountryKids

  5. Oooo congratulations! Second time parenting is lovely – it’s so different from the first

I get what you mean about oversharing – I’m really unsure about instagram, cute pictures of the kids – especially the littlest get so much more interaction but then I feel like I’m just using their cuteness to try and drive people to my blog which feels wrong somehow 🙁 It’s definitely an issue of modern parenting, I wonder what they’ll think of it all when they grow up!!!

  6. Congratulations to you all on your baby news and can complete understand keeping some things personal. That’s the beauty of a blog – it’s your space to share what you want as often as you want. I love the sound of your adventures, especially the Small Isles Island hopping. Glad that the weather was nice for you. Love that photo of the Robot in the tunnel too 🙂 #countrykids

  7. Where do I start with this comment….errrr it has to be congratulations!!!! I know you are playing it down on the blog etc…. but that really is lovely news. I hope everything is going smoothly. I really understand about keeping the news to yourself. Also have a lovely time at BlogOn and I LOVE the pic from the Isle of Eigg (sp?) – it looks spectacular. #familyfun xx

  8. Ohhh congratulations! What fabulous news and thank you so much for choosing to share it here. When I had Lils I didn’t share a single thing, my hormones made me want to keep everything private and half of my friends and family didn’t even know I was pregnant. It showed me who actually cared as they were in my life for real, not just via facebook etc..
Thank you so much for joining in #HappyDaysLinky, lovely to have you back xx
