G is For Growing Cress

Before I had kids I used to allotment and volunteer in GirlGuiding.  I always used to want to share my love of the outdoors with my Brownies and Guides and would often find ways to get them growing things.  Most often growing cress! Unfortunately due to moving and the demands …

Fun and Fast #ABC123Challenge

It’s Friday when I normally try write-up my round-ups. The perfect day for a letter F.  As usual the week has flown by faster than ever. We’ve had plenty of fun but I clicked my neck one morning half way through the week so I’ve had a not so pleasant …

F is for Foam Shapes

This post is not for the faint hearted! It’s not even really the best how to post.  Pinterest perfect it is not.  It’s an experience, one that makes me think why do I even bother.  Foam shapes, no, no, no. This reminds me a bit of the time I tried …

E is for Emergency Vehicles

The Robot absolutely loves vehicles. All of them, cars, trains, bin lorries, post vans, you name them he loves them! There is one thing though that gets him every time. Emergency vehicles.  They’re the best.  I don’t think he really understands the severity of them yet, that they’re normally heading …

D is for Dancing

There are lots of reasons why I love dancing and non of them are to do with actually knowing how to dance.  I possibly went to one or two dance lessons as a kid because my friend did but I soon hot footed it out the door when I could. …

The Many Stages of Robot

It was Fiona at Coombe Mill that sparked an interest in creating this blog post.  She has watched, through my blog, the Robot grow into the fun-loving outdoor little boy that he’s become.  It was her comment about him being sat in a back pack, to short walks, to the …

B is for Balloon Painting

We discovered a strange occurrence last year. Balloons!  Every sugar and cake filled toddlers idea of a good time.  Birthday parties for 3 years old are simple.  Put balloons in an empty room.  Put 2 and 3 year olds in said room… shut door and run away! Well not the …

A is for Alphabet

What better way to start an alphabet challenge than with a post all about Learning the alphabet!!  From a very early age we’ve always read to the Robot and we’re continuing this with CABS.  The Robot really loves his ABC books and we think this has fostered a fascination with …

The ABC123 Challenge

Welcome to the ABC123 Challenge. This is not new to me, back in 2016 I gave this a go as a way to find my writing voice and get into the swing of creating regular blog posts.  3 blogs a week, each week a different letter of the alphabet.  It …

Winter Snow Christmas Sensory Box

When I received some happy mail last month with the little foam package material in, I didn’t get disheartened by the mess opening it created. I turned it into opportunity by creating a Winter Snow Christmas Sensory Box.  What FUN! Squirreling the bits away into a box for a few …

Surviving A Long Train Journey With A Toddler – NO SCREENS!

We’re seasoned train travellers with our little Robot son. He’s 2 and while most our journeys are less than an hour we have destination south coast in our sights. Visiting Family that live across country with a fun-filled 7 hour train journey. Yikes.

With Christmas round the corner quite a lot of people will be considering catching the train to visit family. I figured it would be a good time to share with you a trip I made solo with my toddler back in the Summer. I was a tad daunted to say the least but knew we’d be okay.

Happy Days October 2017

The purpose of this post is to concentrate on all the happy things that have happened over the month. We’ve certainly had some happy moments but being heavily pregnant is starting to take its toll on how happy I can actually feel. I ache now, moving is slow, parent/friend support is spread very thin, poor Dave is juggling work and waiting for that moment I go “I’m in labour”. As of the 29th it’s not yet! I can’t wait… Let’s take a look at some of the happy moments of the past month.

Happy Days September

I can’t quite believe it’s the last day in September today.  It’s gone so quick and I don’t really feel like it’s been fun packed and as full as it could have been.  It’s all been about survival and making it through each day at the time.  We’ve definitely been …
