A Brand New Day Week Nine

Welcome to A Brand New Day!  A Linky to fill you with aspiration when you feel like you may be struggling alone. Everyone needs an opportunity to start again.  Draw a line under yesterdays bad day and start again with #ABrandNewDay.  As parents I feel we sometimes set ourselves up for a fail and we don’t always recognise all the good stuff we do around that.  A healthy meal, a trip to the park, a walk around the block.  All these little steps lead to a healthier life style.  Please share the ups and downs with us at #ABrandNewDay.

A Brand New Day

This week I am sharing a link to an Interview I have written with Orsolya Hernold.  She has developed focused journaling and has free guided journaling courses that focus on one specific area of someone’s life at a time.  I thought that this would be great to share with you as fellow bloggers.  We all write, but if we focus on a specific area of our life to hopefully learn from our daily experiences then this can only be a good thing?   She also sells beautiful journals to go with the course should needed.

This week I am awarding #Abrandnewday to Mummy in a Tutu – Eat the Story .  Getting children to eat healthily is always difficult, but Katies idea is brilliant, make a story on your plate!   Making good examples to our children be it with healthy eating or exercise can only ever be a good thing.

  1. I’ve had some experience as both a stay at home mom and now as a full time working mom and I have to say that neither is even remotely easy and there are a lot of double standards and assumptions made about both. For me personally I never intended to be a SAHM but I hadn’t finished grad school yet and had to recuperate from delivery complications. It ended up being exhausting but rewarding. I felt judged then and now as a working mom I feel judged. People assume that I don’t spend enough time with my kid and sometimes that I am too career oriented. However in all honesty I would go part time in an instant if it wouldn’t cause me so many problems towards getting the licensure I need to really to do my job. If only there were more options for women who want to take some time off to enjoy their children while they aren’t in school yet.

Anyways, I enjoyed your post and appreciate your insight on the stigma of being a stay at home mom.
    Thanks! #abrandnewday
